When my brother was in a cetain unit in the IDF that shall remain nameless, they had what is known as a company drill - where a whole company navigates in the desert from A to B.
They sent a crew of three people in front as a "spearhead'. Those people's code name for the drill was "fox"; they were supposed to lead the way.
After a while the following conversation took place over the radio:
- "Fox, this is platoon commander. DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE HELL YOU ARE GOING??!"
- "Negative, over".
